'Raising the Bar'

Understanding what the Curriculum for Excellence means for your business

Date: Friday 18th June 2010

Time: 08:30am - 09:45am

Location: Grove Academy, Claypotts Road, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

Cost:  Free

The Curriculum for Excellence will see the biggest shake up in local schools for a generation.   It will fundamentally change what and how our young people are taught.   It's success will largely determine whether your business has a future workforce with the skills and attributes it needs.

'Raising the Bar' will give you the opportunity to understand how the Curriculum for Excellence will work - how you can influence it and how your business will be influenced by it.  The seminar will also describe other important initiatives underway to improve overall pupil attainment levels, and will allow you to network with fellow DACC members and local members of the Institute of Directors and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Member 2 Member @ Carnoustie Golf Hotel 29th June 2010

Welcome the start of the summer holiday period by meeting fellow members at the fantastic venue that is the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.   The informal networking that characterises the M2M will again be preceded by a short 'Maximise Your Membership' session to give everyone attending, but especially our newest members, a chance to meet the DACC team and get an overview of what the Chamber does,  and get a run down on the other members before the networking starts.  So, if there is someone special that you want to meet at the M-2-M; just say who and the DACC team will introduce you.  After that, it is up to you!  The evening will also feature the launch of the new DACC website, with web designer Alex Mitchell of  Zen Elements on hand to explain how it works.  !!A lucky participant will also win a fantastic Seniors Open golf prize!!

Non members are welcome to come along to the Carnoustie Golf Hotel if they are accompanied by an existing member: so if you think someone would benefit from experiencing the Chamber, why not bring them along?  Remember, if they join DACC, you are a Chamber Champion and earn £10.
