Hull bound – Operation COO

6am on the train to Hull for 2 days with our sister company Systex, this is a fortnightly trip at the moment, so feels like a second home.  6 and a half hours later and I’m there, get through a couple of great meetings with London Councils and ATOC and our budget's finished. 6pm on my way to the hotel, the staff know me by name and even know my food orders!

COO in action again

Nice early start, emails and breakfast, in the office for 8am and finish our budget review for the Group.  Strategy planning session for a future event we are attending, all geared toward the future of The ESP Group. Late lunch and I attend a software demonstration of our new CMS software, it went really well and can’t wait to release it!  Back to my second home, the Village Hotel for a couple of calls, a lot of emails and sleep before my early train to London tomorrow.

MD hat on!

8.17am train from Hull to London’s kings cross, off the train & now heading for our lunchtime meeting with Transport for London.  My team is with me, George, Julie and Bob, we have worked with TfL for a long time and we had a great meeting and there's exciting times afoot!  Tube and train to Heathrow, catch up with some conference calls with the rest of the executive board while waiting on my little aeroplane home, not my favourite but it’s quicker than walking!  Can’t wait for a good night’s sleep tonight.

MD and award winner!

In the office at Journeycall in Arbroath, 3 meetings, National Entitlement Card conference call, expenses and my usual MD duties all done by 12!  Then off to the train station again, this time with my team, all excited and nervous for the BWS awards, as a team we are up for employer of the year.  Change into the glad rags and off to the ball we go!  WE WON!  Myself and Journeycall employer of the year, to say I am proud would be an understatement!

Journeycall the fun stuff!

10am train back to Arbroath, award in hand and a very tired and jovial team in tow!  The rest of the team at Journeycall are excited to see the award and say well done, to which I say well done to everyone this is OUR award.  It’s fun Friday in Journeycall today, spend a while engaging with staff and dooking for apples before I wrap up my week & head off to Barcelona for the weekend!
