Picture Time

I am a new mum to Verity who turned one this week – it certainly is an interesting time! Juggling coming back to work full time is hard but so far so good! Today we had our first professional photo shoot done by Making Memories in Cupar. Stan put us all at ease. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get hold of the photos in time for submitting this blog so instead here is a picture of a teething one year old on her birthday!

Edinburgh day

I work from our Edinburgh office on Mondays and enjoy catching up with the team there. We also have a yoga class on in the board room at lunch time which is quite hard work but also really helps me relax. Workwise today involved finalising a lease for an energy project we are working on down in Wales and negotiating an exclusivity agreement for new office premises.

Dundee Day

Back to the Dundee office today, my work involved reporting to a bank about a property they were taking security over, and also about a lease for a mobile phone mast, which brings with it all kinds of issues. I negotiated some services rights for a hotel company, a duty of care agreement for an asset manager and then dialled in to a meeting to discuss upcoming networking events.

A Moveable Feast

After a busy day in the office I attended a Women Ahead networking event at Hospitalfield in Arbroath and was blown away by how beautiful a venue it is. We were treated to some gorgeous food by several local producers and got to go on a tour around the art house itself.  It was stunning and I got to meet some really interesting people. It was my first Women Ahead event and I’m looking forward to the next one. I love meeting people, old buildings and am a total foodie so this event was right up my street!

Out and about in Dundee

We have a summer placement student with us for four weeks so today we all went out for lunch to Italian Grill to welcome her. Laura Roddy is with us for four weeks and already has been a great help. The walk out saw us take in some of the Oor Wullies and also helped us up our step count for our firm-wide ‘Walk to Rio’. As a firm we are trying to cover the 6000 miles from Scotland to Rio in time for the opening ceremony. If we make it MacRoberts will donate £1500 to Scottish Sports Futures!
