Abertay University celebrate the last 20 years

As the class of 2014 begin a new chapter in their lives, Abertay University look back 20 years, to the class of 1994 when The Dundee Institute of Technology gained University status. The first graduation ceremony as a University was held on Friday 11 November 1994. Along with almost 900 students who graduated that day there were also the first five honorary degrees to Sir David Cox, Barboura Patricia Grant OBE, Eugenie Fraser, The Rt Hon Lord Ross PC LLC and Kirsty Wark. Over the last 20 years over 20,000 students have followed in the footsteps of those initial Abertay graduates and over 100 honorary degrees have been issued, with many more to come.
