An award-winning Perthshire delicatessen business has been snapped up by a local entrepreneur couple. Simon and Sarah Yearsley, who set up a Bankfoot-based Big Tree Campervans in 2009, have branched out into the food trade with the purchase of the Scottish Deli.

The firm has outlets in both Dunkeld and Pitlochry and sells a wide variety of produce- much of which is sourced from the local area. Both shops also have their own small production kitchens- a major draw for the foodie-loving new owners. The Yearsleys, who were supported in the business acquisition by Bank of Scotland, are keen to explore their passion for speciality food as they look to grow the business.

The couple\'s purchase of the Scottish Deli also secures a number of local jobs. Ian Collins, senior commercial manager, Bank of Scotland, said he was pleased to have helped secure a future for a well-known local business. \"It’s great to be working with Simon and Sarah as they expand their business portfolio in Perthshire,\" Mr Collins said, \"We are really excited to be involved in this acquisition which will no doubt see the Scottish Demi go from strength to strength and grow its offering for the local community and beyond.\"

Mr Collins said it was also an interesting time for the food and drink trade in Scotland as a whole. \"It\'s an exciting time for the wider industry in Scotland too, especially as 2015 is Scotland\'s Year of Food & Drink, in partnership with VisitScotland, Event Scotland and Scotland Food and Drink.

\"As a bank, our team of relationship managers have been well equipped with industry-led expertise provided by VisitScotland to ensure businesses make the very best of their Scottish provenance.
