President's Welcome

I am proud and honoured to be the President of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and to work with staff and other Directors to serve the Chamber's members and partners.

The great news is that our membership continues to grow. We are still attracting new members from many different sectors. They also vary in size and business age, so we continue to have a broad representative mix from every part of Dundee and Angus.

But, I want to go further and faster.  When I gave my first address as President at the 2012 AGM, I set a challenging target to double the Chamber's membership in the next 12 months.  And there is one very easy way to achieve that: I would like every existing member to refer one potential new member to us. 

If we can achieve this, then our chamber will be an even more powerful force for business and an even stronger advocate of the companies that generate wealth for the people of Dundee and Angus. 

I see my other main roles as:

• Maintaining good governance and making sure that the Chamber's long-term finances are secure
• Building a chamber of commerce that people choose to engage with because they see real value for them and because they are proud of what it is doing to make Dundee and Angus successful and feel good about itself
• Giving the Chamber an effective role to lobby UK, Scottish and local politicians on critical business and economic issues
• Making sure that business gets the positive profile it deserves for the great job it does.

I have always been passionate about the Chamber, and I am delighted to be part of the success story that is Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce.  And I look forward to being part of the greater success that it will surely become if we all work together.
