Join us for this Q&A session when we'll hear from a panel of experts who'll share their expertise in a variety of topics such as:

  • Working with your workforce to future proof your business
  • Expanding your workforce skills
  • Keeping up to date with the most current skill set emerging from education
  • Analysis being carried out to identify gaps across the region

We'll also hear from Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Higher Education and Further Education, Youth Employment and Training who'll tell us more about the Future Skills Action Plan for Scotland. 

Our Q&A session will be facilitated by DACC CEO, Alison Henderson, where attendees will have the opportunity to quiz our panel of experts on the challenges being faced within their business and gain valuable insight into the opportunities available to help them and their employees grow. 

Speakers

Anas Smaali, University Hiring Lead, NCRAnas Smaali, NCR

My focus is on attracting, hiring and offering best in class onboarding experience to our top early career talent into NCR across the EMEA region.

Anas will be joined by Shannon McGrath, a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at NCR.

Shannon graduated from University of Dundee in July 2021 with a First Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In February 2020, she was interviewed for and offered a position as a Mechanical Engineering Intern. Shannon's internship ran remotely from June to September and was then offered to stay on part-time throughout my final year of studies and continued an intern project as her Final Year Honours Project. Shortly after, in October 2020 Shannon was offered a full time graduate role starting in June 2021.

 

Jamie Hepburn MSP

Jamie Hepburn was appointed Minister for Higher Education and Further Education, Youth Employment and Training in May 2021.

Jamie Hepburn MSPJamie was educated at Hyndland Secondary and the University of Glasgow, graduating with a degree in Politics and History.

He served as National Convener of the SNP's student and youth wings, was MSP for Central Scotland between 2007 and 2011 and has been MSP for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth since 2011. He was appointed Minister for Sport, Health Improvement and Mental Health in November 2014.

He was previously the Minister for Employability and Training and the Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills.

Caryn Gibson, Economics Partnership Manager, Dundee & Angus College

Caryn has worked in the business support ecosystem for over ten years now and is well experienced in starting, supporting and growing businesses from birth to high growth across all sectors. 

In her current role Caryn manages the Business Partnership Team at Dundee and Angus College who’s role is to support the local business community to access the skills support they require to future proof their business.
