Regeneration Through Innovation – How MSIP is Powering Dundee’s Next Chapter

When we began shaping Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) from the former Michelin tyre factory site, our vision was bold but clear: to turn a legacy of world-class manufacturing into a launchpad for the industries of the future. What stands here today in Dundee is not just a repurposed space, but a reimagined community – one built around innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
As someone who’s been part of the journey from the very beginning, I’ve seen first-hand how regeneration can mean far more than physical transformation. MSIP has become a living example of how place-making and innovation can work hand in hand. By focusing on sustainable innovation and technology, we’ve created an environment where businesses - from start-ups to global players - can test, grow and collaborate, all with a shared ambition to accelerate the journey to net zero.
Our impact reaches well beyond the Innovation Parc itself. MSIP is helping to secure existing and attract new investment into Dundee, support the growth of local supply chains, and sustain jobs. We’ve also worked hard to ensure that education and skills are part of the story – developing the talent that will power a low-carbon economy for generations to come.
For the wider business community, the opportunity is clear – connect, collaborate and innovate. The success of projects like MSIP depends on shared ambition, between industry, academia, and local enterprise, to ensure this region continues to thrive as a place where ideas become reality.
Dundee has always been a city of reinvention. With MSIP at its heart, that spirit is alive and well – transforming a proud industrial past into a blueprint for a sustainable, inclusive future.
