Monday

No weeks are the same here at Brightside. Today I am travelling down to London to visit one of our many clients and support one of our facilitators with an Insights Discovery workshop for a lively bunch of Interns. What is wonderful working here is that I am combining this trip with visiting my younger brother and his family who give me a bed for the night before embarking on a cross London journey tomorrow morning to the client.

Excited to see the enthusiasm of the next generation of workers as they embark on the first year with a new employer. Insights Discovery can support them as they get to know one another and themselves and raise awareness of self.

Tuesday

After experiencing the crazy London commute, I arrive at the client for our 3hr session this morning. Our facilitator gets the room set up for the day and everyone has a set of blocks ready and waiting on their chair. Excitement builds. After the workshop everyone is super excited and energised. They have much more awareness of each other as well as understanding the four colour energies based on the Insights Discovery Model. Lots of productive chats come out of the event and as facilitators we have really enjoyed the energy the room brought to life. I decide to work in the airport in the afternoon as I wait for my flight home. Little hop from Heathrow to Dundee in a Loganair plane and I am home ready to start my day again tomorrow!

Wednesday

Midweek and we are on client calls talking about how they can embed Insights Discovery within the organisation. Supporting our Client Practitioners is a key element of my role and I love talking to those who are so enthusiastic about the tool and want to use it to support both L&D conversations and Team dynamics within the company they work for. Quite often they are HR business partners or L&D specialists. Our facilitators are out and about working with clients and part of my role is ensuring they have everything they need for a successful event.

Thursday

Today sees me have a couple of coaching calls scheduled. These really energise me and I love the supportive conversation you can have that helps someone work towards a goal that they have in mind when they begin that coaching journey. At Brightside we support coaching conversations with both our clients and anyone who wishes to reach out to us. We take one on one requests as well as coaching teams. The role of a coach is a privilege and I never take that for granted.

Friday

The end of my week sees me take my morning to update all the paperwork to get up to date with Brightside Admin. We always take time to reflect at the end of a busy week. We carry out a temperature check as a team and celebrate our successes for the week. Early finish on a Friday with my afternoon to relax and take time with family. Two teenagers keep me busy so its welcome to have that time and space for me. Working at Brightside allows me to grow as we work with clients but also to remember to practice self care.
