Session One: The Centenary of the Iolaire Disaster

The Culture & Business Fund Scotland supported the creation of a new permanent sculpture to commemorate the Iolaire disaster, one of the most devastating peacetime tragedies in British Maritime History unveiled at the Iolaire Centenary Service by HRH The Prince Charles, Lord of the Isles, on 1st January 2019.

Elly Fletcher, Chief Executive An Lanntair Arts Centre and Stewart Graham, Managing Director of Gael Force Group will present on how their partnership made this possible and the impacts this has had on their organisations, the community on the Isle of Lewis and Harris, and the family and descendants of the 201 service men who lost their lives 100 years ago, and those who survived.

Session Two: Cultural Sector Funders Key Updates

This invaluable session for the cultural sector will have presentations from three key national funding bodies talking about their development plans, new grant programmes, associated changes and re-focussing of priorities followed by a Q&A with attendees.
