Start 2019 by being inspired, get involved in two days of learning, co-design and engaging your business in social challenges which effect our region!

This two-day Service Design Jam will teach participants more about the world of service design through interactive and dynamic workshops. The programme for the two days will include an introduction to a variety of tools and methods used within service design, in addition to some background theory and local, national and international case examples.

Service design is about approaching things from a different mindset and using different methods to consider a ‘problem’, establish what currently works well and what areas require improvement and identify what the ‘right questions’ are to progress with co-designing a new solution/customer journey/service.

One such tool which works well is the ‘breaking down assumptions’ exercise which can help develop a sense of empathy and understanding for each other – used alongside user interviews, the fast idea generator tool stimulates some creative and innovative ideas.

A Jam is a high-energy event that brings diverse people together, exploring ways to change the world around them using design and a playful mindset.

The event will be facilitated by the Service Design Academy (http://sda.ac.uk) and we look forward to engaging businesses in learning about Service Design, but also taking a different look at how we can come togther to solve some key social challenges for our region.

The Chamber is excited to be putting on the very first Business Design Jam in Dundee - 2019 is a key year as we build on the successes of 2018, but we have some key challenges to overcome in our region, and through service design and design-led thinking we can all do our bit to get involved and engaged in looking at solutions - every single one of us can make a difference...spend two days at the end of January learning new skills and generating a sustained positive impact!
