Looking to become more Social Media Savvy??

After the success of our event in 2017 we are delighted to be working with 2 new guru's to get you more Social Media Savvy.

Starting at 4.30pm with registration and networking over refreshments attendees with then split into smaller groups and get the chance to hear from 4 gurus who will teach us all there is to know about Social Media. From having a policy in place to protect you and your workforce to how to implement a social media strategy, this event will help you focus your digital presence and boost your profile. Questions are encouraged!!

Our 4 gurus

We are delighted to welcome back Simon Allison and Jack Boyle - Employment Law Specialists with Blackadders

Simon and Jack are employment lawyers who form part of the Blackadders’ award-winning team. They are experts on social media, with a particular interest in Twitter. They have thousands of followers each and are regularly called upon to provide training on social media and many other topics to various organisations and employers.

See Simon’s Twitter profile @EmpLawyerSimon. Simon will speak about the importance of having a social media policy to protect your business. What use of social media is permitted during working time? Does the policy distinguish between inappropriate and unauthorised use? Who owns social media contacts? What defences are available to employers in relation to social media breaches?

See Jack’s Twitter profile @EmpLawyerJack. Jack will speak about some of the legal implications arising from social media. What claims can arise from social media? What levels of award can a tribunal make? Are employers liable for employee misuse? Jack will look at some recent cases by way of illustration.

Ashley Blake - Digital Marketing Manager at Blue2 Digital

Ashley is a masters graduate from the Florida Institute of Technology and has 6 years experience running online marketing campaigns, creating social media strategies and managing SEO, working for both Google and Disney in this capacity. Ashley was previously in charge of running multi-million dollar adwords accounts which hit targets and KPIs. Ashley is tasked with running the digital marketing team and creating strategies for our clients that are accountable and achieve significant ROI.


As part of her session Ashley will guide attendees through the importance of a strong social media strategy in the workplace and how to measure and analyse the impact of campaigns to ensure maximum exposure with minimum effort.

Leo Plaster - Digital & CRM Manager at The Gleneagles Hotel

Leo has been with The Gleneagles hotel since 2017 after nearly 5 years with VisitScotland. He covers all things digital at Gleneagles including working on social media and content creation. As a keen photographer and videographer himself, he knows what good content looks like and how best to utilise it. Leo will take us through how you can use your social channels as a brand-building and experiential marketing tool to best position your business.
