Year of Young People - Business Breakfast

Date & Time

Thursday, Nov 15, 2018 at 08:15 - 10:30

Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce are delighted to support Career Ready, Breakthrough and Developing the Young Workforce Dundee and Angus as they invite local employers to come along to find out more about their work with young people.

It's easy and rewarding to get involved in supporting local young people to flourish in the world of work and this event will highlight the range of ways you can get involved. Not only does it benefit everyone involved but it also offers businesses a way to develop their people and increase awareness of their brand as an employer.

During the morning we will hear from speakers within education, business and local young people about how collaboration and mentoring have positively impacted them.

Afterwards there will be the opportunity to discuss your learnings further at your table and gain insight from one of the team as to how this would fit with your business.

Career Ready

We believe that every young person should have the skills, confidence and opportunity to enjoy a rewarding future. That’s why we work across the UK to connect young people from low income families with the world of work, unlocking their potential, developing their networks and levelling the playing field – boosting social mobility along the way.

Breakthrough

BREAKTHROUGH is set to bring a revolution of change for care experienced young people in Dundee secondary schools. We’re connecting adults and organisations who care, to young people disadvantaged through no fault of their own. We aim to transform lives, buffering the long-term effects of adverse experiences.

Developing the Young Workforce Dundee and Angus
DYW D&A are one of 21 regional DYW groups across Scotland. We locally work to bring businesses and education closer together. This helps young people become more work ready through taking part in quality work-related activities in their education. All DYW groups are industry-led. We respond to the needs of the local labour market and work with employers and education to help meet these. Our work helps young people develop, supports employers of all sizes to meet their workforce needs and ultimately helps grow the local economy
