Pathways to Agreement: How Mediation Works
Hosted by Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce
Location: 37 City Quay
Date & Time

Disagreements happen in every workplace, partnership and community – but what if they could end with people feeling heard, respected, and ready to move forward? That’s the power of mediation. See mediation up close through a live role play, and explore how conflict transforms into agreement.
Mediation is transforming the way conflicts are resolved in Scotland. Across mediation services, over 70% of cases that go to mediation reach a settlement, with agreements that last. It’s a powerful reminder that when people are given the space to listen, talk, and understand each other, lasting solutions are possible.
This event is not a lecture or a training course – it’s an experience. You will have the chance to observe mediation in action, reflect on the process, and take part in meaningful discussions. Participation in mediation role play itself is encouraged but entirely optional – you can choose to take the role of the mediator or the parties in disagreement, or simply observe and gain insights from the process.
Across the session, you will:
- See mediation in practice, based on real case scenarios.
- Insights into why mediation achieves high agreement rates.
- Take away ideas for improving dialogue in workplaces, partnerships, and communities.
- Gain fresh perspectives on how to strengthen relationships and resolve challenges constructively.
The masterclass is designed for business owners, HR professionals, managers, leaders and anyone interested in improving dialogue and collaboration where they work or volunteer.
Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking session that shows just how powerful dialogue can be.
