In Chamber Shoes - Sarah Young

Having recently joined the DACC team as our Events & Marketing Manager, Sarah gives us a little insight into her working week. Sarah is currently working on the events programme for 2017 and is looking forward to meeting more members at forthcoming events in the run up to Christmas.

In her spare time she enjoys running and spending time with her family.

Ready to start a new week.

Feeling fresh after a weekend away in Aberfeldy I start the morning dealing with emails that have come in over the weekend, there aren’t too many so it’s on to arranging appointments to see some venues in the area and a meeting in the afternoon with one of our new members to discuss potential advertising and sponsorship opportunities in 2017. I also have time to put together an e-blast for tomorrow.

Call out to members.

Today’s e-blast was a call for members to submit articles for the forthcoming magazine and a reminder of the advertising opportunities we have throughout the magazine. There is fantastic interest in both the articles and advertising and member news starts flooding in. There is time to finalise some further advertising for the 2017 Wall Planner before making my way to my son’s 1st year Parent’s Evening!

Another wonderful lunch.

I only get an hour or two in the office this morning before it’s time to travel to Arbroath for the monthly DACC123 lunch being hosted at Angus Careers Centre. These lunches, kindly sponsored by Hillcrest, are a great opportunity for members to come together and network over lunch. After lunch it’s off to Hospitalfield for a look around, such a stunning venue, I certainly look forward to organising an event there in 2017. It’s then back to the office to finalise details for the magazine before the phone calls start on Thursday.

Sell, Sell, Sell!!!

That was my plan for today! Phone calls to members, phone calls to previous advertisers and more phone calls to members. It was a great day getting to speak with members I have not yet met. Having only been in the role for 5 weeks and with 500 organisations on the database, there are many to get around!

Dress down day

Today we headed off to The Circle for our Insights Team Training with Karran from Brightside. The team from DYW joined us and we had great fun planning our staff xmas party in teams depending on our leading colour energy. The Cool Blue’s organised an all expenses paid trip to London with dinner in the Shard cooked by Heston Blumenthal with entertainment by Avicii and Michael Buble! There was a chuckle or two in the room when we got to read our profiles, compiled after a series of 25 questions were answered prior to the day, and were all amazed at how accurate they were. Sadly we didn’t get to stay for the Grand Opening of The Circle as I had to rush back to the office to get some final decisions on advertising.
