In Your Shoes - Michelle Beer

I have been in the health and beauty industry for over 15 years. I previously began my career working in various salons within Tayside and Angus and progressed to medical aesthetics in 2015 when I joined Renu Skin Clinic. I qualified in Beauty Therapy and was voted best therapist in 2011.  I am also a lecturer with Dundee and Angus college where I teach to beauty students 3 x weekly. I have extensive knowledge in skin health having trained with ZO skin health and I continue to care for all your skin health needs offering sound advice to our clients.

Kicking off the week!

I start my week off teaching at Dundee and Angus College. I have morning and afternoon classes teaching a wide range of face and body treatments. The students are coming to the end of their course therefore today was finishing up both theory and practical assessments on clients. I finish up the day marking and giving feedback to students.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Today I work at Renu and as its skin cancer awareness month, we merchandise our clinic stock to promote our range of SPF to all clients who visit. Our resident surgeon is in clinic today so I assist and partner consultations for clients requiring laser thread veins removal of the lower legs and I patch test them for ongoing services in clinic. My day finishes at 6 after I clear and file clients notes.

Satisfying day at the office!

I start my day at 9:30am at Renu, I pick up emails, client enquiries and check my day ahead.  I then go onto to complete a full client list covering various treatments. Throughout the day I reviewed one of my laser clients who I  treated for a Venous lake on her lower lip a month ago, she achieved an amazing result in only one service. I leave work at 6pm happy that I can achieve result driven treatments for my clients. Complete work satisfaction.

Marking & College class

My morning was spent marking students work and preparing for upcoming classes. I then went to college and took my afternoon class of 1st year beauty students. I supported the  class today through offering beauty services to school students from surrounding  high schools with hearing impairment. This was an excellent opportunity for the beauty students to work on their non verbal communication. The afternoon went well and all the students left feeling great. After college my day is not over as I make my way to Renu and complete services for clients who require after work  appointments. I finish up at 8pm and make my way home. Tired but happy.

Short day Friday

This is my shortest working day where I start at Renu at 10am and take clients for morning services. Today I had a client in for her 3rd Skin peel and a review of her Zo skin home-care products. She is achieving great results and her skin is improving each time I see her. I can tell she is happy which in turn makes me happy. I leave at lunch time and make my way to College where I take an afternoon class of 1st year students. Today the students covered everything they have learned over the last year and we had catch up theory and practical assessments. I end my working day taking students for a support and guidance class. I help students with course material and ensure that they are on track with their college work.

The end of another busy week

As we are busy at Renu I take clients until 3pm covering a wide range of beauty services. Saturday is always a short day of clients and it flies in. After finishing I make my way to a friends baby shower and complete my working week tucking into a large slice of chocolate cake.
