In Your Shoes - Kirsty Thomson

Hi folks, I hope you enjoy reading about myself and the team this week.  I set up Along Came Kirsty CIC to support third sector organisations, to achieve their own aims whether that is social or environmental and this in turn improves communities across Scotland and the UK. There ARE no typical days working at my social enterprise Along Came Kirsty CIC but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Hearing and Sharing Fundraising News!

Back to work on Monday morning and still talking about the TCCL Ball we all attended on Saturday night! What a result! Just over £18,000 raised at this amazing event. Now turning attention to a new client in London and welcomed a new member of staff based in the North East of England! Busy, busy…

Tuesday has a decidedly international flavour….

In talks today about bringing an international conference to Dundee in 2017! Dundee is an exciting, inclusive and collaborative city and the perfect venue. Might be two years away but you can never start your planning too soon.  Chris Scott the brilliant photographer popped in to get involved in our next Bridal March fun run which was great news. Fitted in a session with my personal trainer after work- the less said the better!

Twitter links to historic Linlithgow

Back on the road and meeting a new client in Linlithgow. This connection was made through Twitter where this client has followed us for 3 years and watched our work. We don’t always advise waiting this long before prospective clients get in touch though!

Off to the races like Lana Del Rey!

I am off to the races in Perth today leaving the very capable Along Came Kirsty team working away. Clare is sending out lots of quotes to enquiring prospective clients as the rest of the team work away on a wide range of events and campaigns. There are no ‘typical’ days in our line of work!

Dotting ‘I’s and crossing ‘t’s- PMLD Awareness Week 2015

Putting the final touches in place today for the first ever Profound and Multiple Learning Disability (PMLD) Awareness Week (Monday the 18th - 24th May 2015). Headed by PAMIS, the only organisation working solely with people with PMLD and their families for a better life, this campaign is aimed at raising the awareness of PMLD and helping them to achieve their rightful place in society. This charity has a special meaning to me as they support my own family.

Available for weddings, bar mitzvahs, christenings….!

Myself and Clare have been asked to sing at a friend’s wedding so time to fit in a practise! We had a few run throughs and practised the harmonies for the BIG DAY but think we might need a few more sessions before we sound like First Aid Kit - one of our favourite bands at the moment!

Raising money for Charity on Sunday’s too

At ACK we don’t restrict raising money to Monday to Friday’s so Clare is off with a team to Glasgow today to complete a 10K at the Great Run to raise money for PAMIS! Good luck guys!
