In Your Shoes - Charlotte Gillett

Charlotte GIllett is Commercial Director at Mint Accounting with offices in Dundee, Aberdeen, Ayrshire and London. Charlotte is based in the Dundee office, having relocated here in 2015, but spends her time travelling across the UK. She is an advocate of cloud technology and spends the vast majority of her time educating businesses on how they can increase internal efficiency and cut costs (cutting costs pleases the accountants in the office). Charlotte is passionate about Dundee and, regardless of how much she has to travel, Dundee will now always be home.

Life on the road...

I normally hot desk at Elevator UK in Aberdeen on a Monday but this week I had to head down to Ayrshire. We are in the middle of expanding again, this time into London. This means internal changes so I head down to update the team.

Never a quiet moment at Mint...

In at 6am to review funding options for clients and a new cloud system to apply on. Office is crazy today as work starts on my office following a flood in December! We also win a VAT dispute for a client due to the unrelenting will of Allison, Mint MD.

Early bird catches the worm...

In the office at 5.30am to work before attending the Inter-Chamber speed networking, which was amazing! I made lots of new contacts. Followed this up by meeting with HitReach (at that Dundee hot spot - the Apex) to discuss digital media strategy for London as things are moving quickly.

Dundee Economic Summit

The Economic Summit was brilliant. Listening to what is going on in the city made me so proud to live and work here. The rest of the day is spent finishing off our new website and re-developing/re-pricing our service packages. We never stop trying to improve our customer experience.

Friday is not a work day…

It’s a business development day! I spend the morning updating linkedin, twitter and arranging coffee meetings. I have a lunch meeting at The Flame Tree on Exchange Street. My afternoon is spent at BNI Ultimate, a group which I started when I moved to Dundee. Friday’s are so much fun.
