Business Fives Dundee debut sees goals galore and a worthy first winner

The last heat of Business Fives winter season saw a fantastic first – the debut of the competition for five-a-side football-loving firms in Dundee.
The inaugural City of Discovery heat – in partnership with insider.co.uk and supported by Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce - saw 13 firms take part and an impressive 161 goals scored.
Up for grabs were the final three remaining qualifying spots in the winter season grand final at Soccerworld in Glasgow on 14 March, watched by tournament ambassador and former Dundee and Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas alongside chamber chief executive Alison Henderson who was on hand to present the prizes to the successful teams.

It was the Soccerworld in Dundee that hosted Tuesday's event which saw Shepherd Surveyors, Begbies Traynor, Graham Pest Control and EQ Accountants - who had raised £500 In the build up to the tournament for Maggies Dundee - reach the Champions League semi-final stages.
They were joined in the Champions league stages by BT, Blackadders and Caledonia HA.
Shepherd Surveyors overcame Begbies Traynor to take on Graham Pest Control, who dispatched EQ Accountants 3-0 in the other semi-final thanks to goals from Darren Scott, the top goal scorer for the heat with an impressive return of 15 goals.
In a thrilling final Graham Pest Control ran out 3-2 winners to become the first Business Fives winter season Dundee winners.
Graham Pest Control's Ross Graham was named man of the match by Rab Douglas for his fine solo display in the final.
Over in the Europa League section M3 Networks were the best from their group against Astute Scotland and Thorntons Law going on to join BNP Paribas, Dundee Airport and Graham + Sibbald in the Europa League semi finals. In the Europa League final, Graham + Sibbald enjoyed a late flourish to run out 4-1 winners against BNP Paribas.
That means Graham Pest Control, Shepherd Surveyors and Graham + Sibbald completed the line-up of a bumper 21 teams who will contest the Grand Final in March.
