A collaboration between Discovery Point and local artist and illustrator Suzanne Scott, who works under the name WhimSicAL LusH, has gone on sale at the popular Dundee tourist attraction.

Suzanne\'s unique and quirky illustrations of RRS Discovery will feature on mugs, tote bags, t-shirts and notepads. The new line comes after the successful partnership between Dundee Heritage Trust, WhimSicAL LusH and Brewdog, which resulted in a bespoke beer where teak wood from the ship was smoked and used in the brewing process to create, ‘Smoked in History\', which sold out in both Brew Dog and at Discovery Point.

Paul Jennings, executive director at Dundee Heritage Trust, commented on the creative collaboration:

\"The collaboration with WhimSicAL LusH and Dundee Heritage Trust gives us the chance to showcase the local talent of design in Dundee and how it can be incorporated into the growing tourism offering. As the only UNESCO City of Design in the UK, and with the V&A due to open its doors to the world in 2018, this is a fantastic opportunity for creative and tourism businesses to collaborate and celebrate what Dundee has to offer.\"

Suzanne Scott added:

\"It has been really exciting working with the team at Discovery Point to produce some great quality items with my RRS Discovery design on them, which is such an iconic part of Dundee\'s history. It\'s great to see the finished result which people can pick up in the retail shop now.\"

Visitors to the iconic ship over the Easter break will get the chance to witness the ship in its present once-in-a-lifetime state: free of masts and rigging, which have been removed for cleaning and repairs. The ship\'s missing parts are due to be replaced again at the end of May.

Dundee Heritage Trust, formed in 1985 to preserve and interpret Dundee\'s industrial past, operates RRS Discovery and social history museum Verdant Works, both five-star rated attractions and winners of numerous awards.
