Offers of support to help pupils and staff from Braeview Academy have been flooding in since the school building was hit by a devastating fire last week.
As preparations continue for a return to the classroom temporarily at other secondaries in the city, work has been ongoing to ensure that disruption to the education of young people is kept to a minimum in the circumstances.
From online resources to help keep up to date with work to football sessions for S1 pupils from Dundee United, help has included a range of public sector and private firms.
And all S3-S6 pupils will be welcomed to the recently-opened V&A Dundee as the museum throws its doors open to them for a visit.
City council children and families service convener Councillor Stewart Hunter said: “I know that everyone connected with Braeview Academy is extremely grateful for these offers of help.
“It really shows us how the wider community in Dundee can rally around in times of crisis. It makes me extremely proud of this city.”
Head teacher Lesley Elder added: “Braeview is a strong school community surrounded by people who really care for our young people.
“We are very grateful for every offer of support that has come in from sources ranging from our colleagues in other schools to the SQA, Fintry Parish Church, our local community partnership and beyond.
“This has been a challenging time and I am delighted at the generosity that has been shown towards us.
“We are looking forward to getting back into the classroom and resuming the education of our pupils.”

Concept Printing will provide free printers and materials to Braeview for use on return to building.

The fire at Braeview has meant loss of wifi for Barnhill Primary – Angus Council have worked to ensure that the primary can have access through Craigowl transmitter.
