Welcoming the news that the UK Government Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has decided that Edinburgh should be the site for the headquarters of the new Green Investment Bank, Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:

'This is fantastic news for Edinburgh and for Scotland.  The decision to headquarter the Green Investment Bank in Scotland is testament to the city's continuing reputation for excellence in the fields of finance and energy and is recognition of the central role that Scotland has to play in the development of renewable energy technologies.

'Edinburgh has battled hard to win the Green Investment Bank for the city and its Chamber of Commerce has led this successful campaign from day one.

'This decision firmly places Scotland at the centre of future investment for renewable energy projects throughout the United Kingdom.'
