DACC's 'hotline' to SEPA

Members who attended the recent DACC 'High Noon' lunch heard David Sigsworth, Chairman of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), confirm his commitment to ensure that SEPA works better with the businesses that it 'serves'.

SEPA's David SigsworthCentral to its new strategy for becoming an effective and efficient regulator is to focus on being 'smaller, fleet of foot and smarter' and focusing its resources on activities that represent the 'key harms' to the environment.

If you have any examples of SEPA regulatory practices or demands that it makes on your business that you think fail to meet SEPA's own goal of being 'risk based and proportionate', or that just don't make any sense and pose undue burdens on your company, please let us know and, at David's request, we will pass them directly to his office.
