Scottish Chambers of Commerce have welcomed the decision by the Scottish Government to accelerate capital spending with £105 million of new investment in Scotland's infrastructure.  Commenting, Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:

'This is exactly what is needed in the Scottish economy right now and we believe that this ought to send a signal to the UK Government that more is needed at that level too in terms of investment in the kind of capital projects that will create and sustain jobs as well as boost Scotland's longer term economic potential.

'The Scottish Government have recognised the value of prioritising capital spending, even against a background of significant restraint in public sector budgets, and this has been of great assistance to Scottish businesses as they seek to drive our economic recovery.'
