An update on Dundee City Council's Sports & Leisure Infrastructure.

The New Olympia

The pool is progressing well, due for completion by the end of 2012, and open to the public in February 2013 after final testing.

DISC Pitches

The resurfaced pitches at the Dundee International Sports Complex were opened by Shona Robison, Minister for Sport and the Commonwealth Games on 23rd June at an event which saw 350 players from a range of local sports clubs and the under-18 National Hockey Squad test out the new facilities.

Regional Gymnastics Centre

Work to convert the former Dick McTaggart Sports into a Regional Gymnastics Centre is well underway, due for completion in October 2012.

The Velodrome

The City Council has been involved in a major scheme to refurbish and resurface the outdoor velodrome in Caird Park. The work is now substantially complete.  The new facility will provide a fantastic surface, and with the addition of flood lighting the operational hours of usage will be extended dramatically.
