Growing Your Business - Advice from Hit Reach

Arbroath-based web design company Hit Reach is expanding.

Set up by Chris Gilchrist who funded the business through the sale of his record collection, Hit Reach is growing, with a new team member being taken on board soon and an office in London in the process of being opened.

Chris's advice to entrepreneurs starting out is to make good use of the many free or inexpensive online tools available, which let you do so much on a limited budget. Also, keep tight control of your budget, manage your own invoicing and accounting - Chris uses Freeagent, a low-cost piece of accounting software.

He adds that the biggest mistake he made for a long time was being scared to make any mistakes, and that since then the mistakes he's found hardest to live with are the times when he's followed third party advice over his own instincts and it hasn't worked out.
