Building to be turned into Centre for Excellence in Performing and Visual Arts.

The High School of Dundee has acquired the former Head Post Office building and associated site on Ward Road.

The Rector of the High School, Dr John Halliday, said, 'This is a thrilling development for the High School. We were very excited to be able to take up this opportunity to purchase the old Post Office. Dating from 1898, it is one of the most well-known and distinctive buildings in the city centre. Its situation adjacent to the school and the size of the site mean that we can now press ahead with the ambitious development plans we have been putting together in recent years. It will be a massive benefit to the educational provision for both current pupils and generations of High School pupils to come.'
