Scottish Event Awards 2013 in association with Event Scotland (part of Visit Scotland) have announced the finalists for this years awards and Dundee\'s own Vision Sound and Light (VSL) are in the running.

The winners will be announced at a glitzy awards ceremony on the 26th September at a black tie event in Glasgow\'s Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Under the category, Best Technical Services / Production Company VSL have achieved acclaim for their transformation of the Caird Hall for a charity event in support of cancer research in 2012.

The charity, Bare All for Brain Tumours (BAFBT) wanted to not only raise much needed funds so every person in Scotland could have access to vital brain scanning technology but also to raise awareness of the disease and the work of the charity to conduct vital research.

Gary Langlands from VSL said \'We met Carolyn Pierpont who is driving this charity and described to her our vision of how the Caird Hall could look gently swathed in luxurious black starcloth with decorative chair covers and table runners, centre table decorations, screens so all 400 diners could see the action and in the end, with partners that is what we delivered.

\'We knew this was mission accomplished as we produced and directed the show for the night with the help of Red Pepper Events, delivering images on large screens and plasma monitors around the room and the night was a great success raising over £13,500 for the charity.\'

VSL are attempting to work their magic again this year for the 2013 Braveheart BAFBT Ball on 18th October this time in the Apex Hotel. Tickets are priced at £55 per person or £550 for a table of 10 and are available by calling 01382 227700 or by email to eleanor@redpepperevents.com.
