A new suite of short courses is now open for booking. Improve your skills in Digital Business and Managing Transformational Change. Fully funded by the Scottish Funding Council, the courses are free to applicants. Each short course is credit-bearing and a recognised university qualification.

The Courses
Abertay has eight free credit-bearing courses to help you upskill and to support businesses. Delivered 100% online they include live teaching sessions and can be studied flexibly. Each requires up to 50 hours of learning, including independent study.

There are four short courses within each of the two subject areas:

Digital Business

  • Making your Supply Chain Digital
  • Making your Customer Interactions Digital
  • Implementing Digital Solutions
  • Understanding the Cybersecurity Threat

Managing Transformational Change

  • Understanding Transformational Change in a Digital World
  • Opportunities and Threats in Managing Change
  • Transformational Leadership in a Changing World
  • Contemporary Approaches to Organisational Change

Who Are These Courses For?

They are suitable for many types of people - the furloughed, laid-off and self-employed, those in work, managers and owners of small and medium sized businesses and those working in the charity sector.

Anyone with an interest in gaining new skills can sign up. There are no academic entry requirements, but you must be living in Scotland.

Unfortunately these courses are NOT open for current college or university students.

Course Delivery

  • Interactive sessions over two weeks
  • 100% online
  • Assessed via quizzes
  • Delivered by knowledgeable and experienced lecturers.

How They Work

The four courses in each subject area build on each other to create a complete skillset. You'll benefit most if you complete all four courses, but if you're unable to, you can take just one or two.

Qualifications

Each course has 5 credits. For each you successfully complete, you will have 5 credits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). The SCQF supports all learners in Scotland for all levels of qualifications.

Start Dates

Digital Business courses: First course starts 15 February 2021.

Managing Transformational Change courses: First course starts 10 May.
