Stephen Gorton, Account Director at independent PR and Marketing agency Volpa, has become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the highest-ranking membership status in recognition of Stephen's senior and strategic level of experience in the marketing profession.

Stephen, who joined Volpa in 2019, is also a Chartered Marketer with the CIM, the highest level of professional qualification in the industry. This is level of qualification is achieved by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and passing the Chartered Marketer Assessment.

With more than twenty years' experience within the industry, Stephen started marketing agency Fraktul in 2009, which joined forces with the Perth based award winning agency in 2019, bringing a significant level of B2B marketing experience to the Volpa den.

Having previously held marketing manager roles at Kier Construction and Millard Consulting, in 2014 Stephen was responsible for the rebrand of one of Scotland's largest recyclers, the Binn Group. The rebrand, alongside a range of effective marketing activity, was instrumental in raising Binn Group's profile and supporting the business to increase their turnover from £10 million to £16 million in five years. In addition, his work with the Bathroom Company has been instrumental in helping the company to achieve the accolade of UK Bathroom Retailer three times.

Stephen's achievement is the latest of a string of CPD accolades achieved by the Volpa team since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Founder and MD of Volpa Tricia Fox became a Chartered PR professional with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and achieved an ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management, whilst Account Director Emma Davies obtained Accredited Practitioner status with the CIPR.

Tricia Fox commented: "I'm absolutely delighted for Stephen. His fellowship status with the Chartered Institute of Marketing is a real mark of his strategic experience within the marketing profession, and recognition of his expertise as a Chartered Marketer. As we look to the future and rebuild the company after the pandemic, Stephen's contribution will be highly valued by many clients who will themselves be looking to rebuild after such a turbulent time."

Stephen added: "I love the positive effect that high-quality marketing can have on a good business, enabling them to compete, win customers and grow. To have my level of experience in the marketing profession formally recognised is a real plus."
