KR Group Staff 'Step' up to Charity Challenge

Seven team members from steel, cladding and project management solutions company, KR Group, have been working hard to get in 10,000 steps a day no matter the weather, taking part in ‘March for March’ to help raise funds for Scottish charity, Alzheimer Scotland.

KR Group have pledged to mark the achievement of each employee who reaches the target of 310,000 steps with a donation to the charity, who provide much-needed support and information to people living with dementia and their families.

This challenge comes after the success of last month’s, where members of the team walked 350 miles collectively in February for local charity, Aberdeen Cyrenians, who provide care and support for vulnerable people.

The February challenge team not only smashed their target but exceeded it by 81 miles, raising £230 for Aberdeen Cyrenians, with KR Group donating £120 to take the total raised to £350.

Both challenges have had a positive impact on the staff, encouraging team members to get outside and exercise. Events like this are part of the company’s commitment to staff wellbeing, delivered as part of their Healthy Working Lives programme. Lana Hall, Project and HSEQ Coordinator and a member of the KR Group Healthy Working Lives team had this to say,

“I have really enjoyed taking part in March for March – not only has it had a positive impact on my physical health, but it has also helped me mentally. Everyone in the team is supportive and that has motivated me to keep going and stay accountable. On top of that, we get to help an amazing Scottish charity.

It’s great to be a part of a company that cares about staff wellbeing and places importance on helping local charities and communities.”
