Leading tax and business advisory firm, EQ Accountants LLP, have announced that they are combining the expertise of their Cupar and Dundee offices, by amalgamating all personnel within their Dundee premises, with effect from 1 April this year. Their Cupar office will close from this date but there will be no job losses as a result.

Due to the pandemic, all of EQ’s offices have effectively been sitting empty for the past year, which has prompted the firm to reassess their office footprint. With their team currently working remotely, they have accelerated engagement with new technology, allowing them to work efficiently and continue to provide the high level of service clients expect, regardless of location. Going forward, the firm anticipate some form of blended working pattern will emerge but for now their team continue to work from home and will be based within their Dundee premises in due course.

The recently extended Dundee office is a high-quality modern space in a great location, which will provide a better working environment for staff and vastly improved meeting facilities for clients. The newly integrated office will house more than 65 members of the EQ team, strengthening existing expertise and knowledge, and improving capacity to deliver their specialist services to clients. Combining the offices will also emphasise the firm’s knowledge sharing culture, facilitating the personal growth of the team in an inspiring and supportive environment.

In the six years under the EQ banner, the Cupar office’s client base has grown significantly under the management of Partners Mark Wilken, Mark Gallacher and Scott Greig, with a large number of new clients recruited in that period. The Partners are committed to continuing to deliver an unrivalled service to existing clients and achieving further growth in Fife, working alongside colleagues in the firm’s Glenrothes office, where they will strengthen relationships with clients and contacts in Fife and beyond.

David Cameron, Managing Partner, commented, “Over the last 12 months, changes to our locations have not affected our client service, we have maintained our usual working practices and service levels. We have seen an increasing demand for our services and this move will ensure that we have improved capabilities and resources to deliver the high-level expertise we are known for. We feel that this decision will allow more flexibility and is in the best long-term interests of our clients and staff.”

EQ look forward to this next step, and the Cupar team can be reached using the same contact details as before with the office telephone numbers remaining operational for the foreseeable future.
