Donate your Books

Long-standing local volunteer, Jackie Campbell, together with Morris Leslie of the Morris Leslie Group, owners of the Errol Sunday Market, have teamed up to organise a charity book outlet, to support CHAS.

Morris has allocated the local CHAS voluteers a whopping 3,100 square feet and it occupies a prime position. It's currently in the process of being fitted out internally, with high quality units previously part of McEwans of Perth Department store.

So, the plea is - have you been busy clearing out your bookshelves and would you be happy to donate to Jackie & her team?

It is estimated that the shelves will hold 300,000 books, so work is already underway to gather in some good quality books to sell. The team will take any genre of books, paperback or hardback, adult or children’s.

Jackie can be contacted via email, and will then arrange for one of the volunteer group to make contact and arrange safe collection.

They are planning a raffle to mark the opening weekend, (possibly 2nd May), and have already had very positive responses from Val McDermid and James Oswald in respect of signed books, and amazing social media support.

Your donations will help out a fantastic cause - Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. Most people know them as CHAS. For over twenty years they’ve been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through their hospices, homecare services and hospital presence. Read more here https://www.chas.org.uk
