Xplore Dundee - April Service Increase

Published

12th April 2021

Xplore Dundee is boosting service levels on its busiest routes so that more people can travel safely as restrictions continue to ease across Scotland.

From Monday 12th April full frequencies will be restored to increase capacity and support safe physical distancing across the network in line with schools returning and lockdown restrictions easing after the Easter holidays.

Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “We’re putting more buses out on the road, returning to 100% service on our busiest routes and deploying as many double deckers as we can to avoid overcrowding as more and more people return to school, workplaces and leisure activities.

“We’d also encourage customers to download and check the Xplore Dundee app, where they can find all of our up-to-date travel information and timetables and buy tickets. You will soon also be able to monitor how busy our buses are and track their whereabouts – allowing you to plan your journey from beginning to end.

Additionally, from the same date (Monday 12th April) the following alterations to the network will come into effect:

Service 2 re-routed

Service 2 will be re-routed via Hill Street (outbound) and Kinghorne Road (inbound) to improve access to/from sheltered accommodation in the Lawside area. (Click here to view an updated route map.)

Broughty Ferry services renumbered

There will be a slight change to the route numbers running along the 'bottom road' between Ninewells Hospital and Barnhill so that passengers travelling on this corridor can always look out for the core number '5'.
