SPAR Scotland, the leading independent convenience group in Scotland, today announced that it will be hosting a virtual tradeshow on 23 September 2021.

During the event SPAR Scotland will update suppliers, retailers and colleagues on their ongoing, forward thinking plans to further develop their business in a post pandemic world.

Led by Colin McLean CEO of SPAR Scotland, the sessions during the live virtual tradeshow will provide actionable steps retailers can take to increase sales and profit, learn about the latest initiatives the company is planning as well as hear from many guest speakers via the virtual platform they have developed.

“Following on from the great success of our 2020 SPAR Scotland virtual tradeshow and whilst it is pleasing to see current lockdown measures being eased, we still believe a virtual event is the best solution in the current climate. As we have stated many times throughout the last year, the safety and wellbeing of all attendees remains our number one priority. Feedback from our first virtual tradeshow held last November was excellent and as a result we have decided to go ahead with our second virtual event on 23 September.

“Last year we had to quickly find a way to translate a sizeable in-person tradeshow into a virtual event, so our retailers, suppliers and colleagues felt connected. This year we are planning the largest virtual event for Scotland in terms of the wholesale & convenience market, and we are very excited about what we have in store.”

The 2021 virtual tradeshow from SPAR Scotland is themed “One Family, One Vision’ and is set to be bigger and better than last year.

“We want everyone interested in taking part to save the date and to get in touch if they are looking to attend,” added McLean.

There will be suppliers exhibiting, presentations from SPAR Scotland and key supplier partners, a live Q&A session, deals on the day for retailers and ex-marine motivational speaker Andy Grant is already booked to speak. Each delegate will receive a “survival kit” to help them get through the event, in a fun way!

In addition, there will be video 1-2-1 meetings set up with independent retailers and Company Owned Store managers.

Suppliers will have an opportunity to increase the distribution and volumes of key products with a new platform for securing orders developed for this year.

McLean concluded: “We are heavily investing in making this the biggest and best virtual tradeshow. Even when we move back to in-person events, it is great to know that we will have this opportunity to collaborate with our retailers and suppliers.”
