DJCAD have just launched five new online development courses, designed to help you achieve your potential, accelerate your career and succeed.

These courses could help you with your professional or personal development, and enhance your skills and career opportunities. They are also credit-bearing and can contribute towards a taught Postgraduate Programme here at the University of Dundee's School of Art & Design.

As part of the Scottish Funding Council’s initiative to upskill the Scottish workforce, fully funded places are available to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Places are limited, so please be quick.

Design Thinking: Insights to Innovation
31 May – 25 June

Introducing you to design thinking as an approach to creative problem-solving. You will gain insights into how design thinking is being used by designers and non-design professionals to drive forward ingenuity and innovation in academic, commercial and business practices.


Service Prototyping

28 June - 23 July

Learn the principles of service design and prototyping frameworks to drive forward ingenuity and innovation in academic, commercial and business practices.


Creative Technology

19 July - 13 August

Gain a new theoretical and practical understanding of what it means to be a creative technologist. By learning how to tell stories about and with technology, you will gain a deep understanding of how open hardware, and software platforms can be used as prototyping tools within socially motivated design projects.


Leadership & Culture

12 July - 6 August

Learn the theoretical and practical methods and processes to employ design as a strategy for transformation, as you explore how design can inspire business and motivate culture.


Exploring Practice in Art & Design

12 July - 6 August

The perfect opportunity for art and design practitioners to refresh and revisit their art practice in a nurturing and supportive environment as you expand and develop your creative and practical making skills, research processes and idea generation.

Please indicate your interest in any of these short courses by providing evidence of your academic qualifications and/or relevant professional experience along with a short statement outlining why you wish to undertake this course, what you will bring to the cohort in terms of skills base/knowledge and what you hope to achieve by completing the course.
