A specially-selected group of tour operators and golf writers from seven European countries recently visited Carnoustie Country, where they experienced the area’s golf courses, accommodation, food and drink - and warm welcome.

The group were the guests of Carnoustie Country, the Angus Council-led marketing initiative which promotes the 30 courses within a 40-minute drive of Carnoustie Championship course. The trip, which was provided in partnership with VisitScotland, Fife Golf Partnership and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), was part of Carnoustie Country’s focus on increasing the number of golf tourists to the area by targeting the European golf market and developing relationships with tour operators.

During their week-long stay, the group’s members played golf at Edzell, Carnoustie Championship, Monifieth Medal and Blairgowrie Rosemount, experienced hickory golf at Montrose Medal and also visited Glamis Castle and Kinnettles Castle. At the end of their visit, the majority of the group expressed a keen interest in featuring Carnoustie Country in their itineraries.
