The Advantage Report is an annual survey that measures best practice between suppliers, wholesalers, and convenience store retailers across six key business areas. The ultimate goal of the survey is to strive for improved collaborative ways of working across the industry.

Over 200 suppliers participated in the survey and evaluated the performance of CJ Lang and Son Limited and a peer group of 11 other businesses within the wholesale and convenience sectors. Areas rated were Business Relationship, Personnel & Organisation, Category & Business Development, Operational Execution, Supply Chain Management and Payment Processes. The most recent 2021 Advantage Report saw CJ Lang move up to 3rd place from 8th last year.

This is credit to the entire organisation and reflects the step change that the business has made over the last three years. The company is now moving from their Back-to-Basics phase into Delivering Profitable Growth phase. Investment across all areas of the business is clearly delivering dividends.

Richard Collins, Trading Director for CJ Lang and Son Limited said: “This survey, undertaken by The Advantage Group, is a key barometer as to how well we are collaborating with our suppliers. As a business we are continually listening to our customers, retailers and suppliers and their feedback is what shapes our future action plans to deliver on our expectations and drive growth in our business. The result we have achieved this year is testament to the people across all areas of the business and a huge thank you should go to everyone. Despite our success we have already identified further opportunities, from the feedback received, to drive us forward to the number one spot next year.”
