In a shortlist announced last week, the team of four have been recognised as one of the Most Enterprising Businesses and as a High Growth Business of the Year. The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on Sunday 26th September 2021.

A new campaign aimed at providing mothers with a positive experience of breastfeeding when out in public is being supported by Overgate, Dundee. The announcement by Overgate has been timed as part of World Breastfeeding Week which runs until the 7th of August, 2021.

The Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme is administered locally by staff at the Directorate of Public Health within NHS Tayside who are hoping to enlist as many businesses as possible to sign up.

Recognising the importance of breastfeeding to mother and baby, but also the perceived lack of support some mothers feel when wishing to feed their baby outside of their home, Overgate is pleased to be actively supporting the scheme.

As part of Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland, Overgate is now part of a local database of premises participating and helping to raise awareness.

Commenting, Metta Ramsay, Retail Marketing Manager of Overgate said:

The centre is pleased to be partnering with NHS Tayside for this new scheme and we hope it will help to reassure mothers that Overgate is a breastfeeding-friendly destination.”
