Would your staff benefit from an industry-leading qualification?

St. Andrews Management Centre have a number of places available for candidates on the SVQ Level 5 Qualification in Business and Administration from the Scottish Qualifications Authority. These vocational qualifications are designed to ensure that your employees working within business and administrative roles have the skills and competencies to excel.

Comprised of both mandatory and optional units of study, the SVQs are flexible and responsive to the needs of your business - the optional units allow individuals to direct their area of study towards a route that suits their role and personal learner journey.

Trainees demonstrate this competence by clarifying a portfolio of work-based evidence, which is a combination of their learning and their work practices.

Also – it’s important to remember that assistance with funding may be available to qualifying trainees and businesses, making these available or little or no cost to you!

Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ's)

Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) in Business and Administration are designed to equip those working in business and administration with the skills and knowledge they need to demonstrate competence in their job role.

The SVQ at SCQF Level 5 involves a broad range of activities with some degree of complexity and limited autonomy. Mandatory units cover undertaking allocated work, communicating and managing own performance in a business environment. There is a wide range of optional units including document production, supporting events, meetings and diaries, customer service, IT and various specialist administrative functions.

Who is this qualification for?

SVQs in Business and Administration are designed for people at various levels within business organisations and are therefore appropriate to many job roles, from junior administrators through to office managers.

Access
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. This is a work-based qualification, so candidates should be in a job role which allows them to provide the required evidence in a working environment.

No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although some experience in and/or knowledge of the subject would be an advantage.

The Process
The candidate will work towards building their e-portfolio with full support being provided throughout the qualification.

Progress will be reviewed regularly and we will seek the managers input and feedback during these visits. The e-portfolio allows the candidate to easily submit work and communicate with their assessor remotely, in between face to face visits.
