The Kitmart Dundee Stars will play their first game of hockey since March 2020, when they begin their 2021/2022 Elite League season with two preseason friendlies against their local arch-rivals, Fife Flyers.
The club are delighted to be welcoming the fans back after 559 days and the first match is sure to be another thrilling and actioned packed derby when the Stars renew their rivalry against the Flyers at home on Friday, September 17th, before travelling to Kirkcaldy 24 hours later.
They then begin competitive action at home against Belfast Giants in the Challenge Cup Group Stage on Saturday, September 25th.
Following their home, Dundee then hit the road for the first time and face the Elite Series champions, Nottingham Panthers on Sunday, September 26th.
The Taysiders then take on their first triple header weekend of the season and it begins with a Challenge Cup tie in Belfast on Friday, October 1st, followed by a Saturday Cup game in Fife and a third Cup tie on the Sunday, with the Northern Irish side as their opposition once more.
Due to Glasgow Clan’s late start to their season, they will not be participating in the Challenge Cup and therefore, the Stars will face Belfast and Fife four times, twice home and away, in the group stage.
Omar Pacha’s men then have their first road trip weekend as they go up against Nottingham on Saturday, November 6th, before travelling to the West Midlands to play Coventry Blaze on November 7th.
Dundee then get their first chance to face their other Scottish rivals, as they meet the Clan on Saturday, December 11th and shortly after that, the busy festive schedule gets underway.
On Wednesday, December 22nd, the Stars play host to the Panthers before welcoming their arch enemies from across the River Tay to the DIA on Boxing Day and they then travel to Kirkcaldy on December 28th.
The final game of 2021 will take place on Hogmanay, as Belfast welcome Dundee to the SSE Arena and the Stars then open 2022, with a home game against Fife on Monday, January 3rd.
January also brings a run of six-home matches in a row against six different teams for Dundee and between January 9th and January 29th, they will host: Cardiff Devils, Glasgow, Nottingham, Coventry Blaze, Sheffield Steelers and Manchester Storm.
Then in March, the Stars fans will have another chance to travel the UK on a second away double header weekend, with trips to Guildford Flames on Saturday, March 26th, and Coventry on March 27th.
Then in the final month of the regular season, the Stars have one more triple header weekend, that also ties in with their last clashes with Scottish rivals, Glasgow.
Dundee begin in Cardiff against the Devils on Friday, April 1st, before the long bus ride to Glasgow for a road game against the Clan on the Saturday and they then host the Braehead-based outfit on Sunday, April 3rd.
Pacha’s side then conclude the 2021/2022 regular season with a derby weekend as they play the Flyers home and away, with the road game on Saturday, April 9th and their final home match on Sunday, April 10th.
The Elite League Playoffs are scheduled to begin with the two-legged Quarter-Final ties on April 16th and 17th, with the Playoff Finals Weekend on April 23rd and 24th.
