Volunteers Bring Joy to Disabled Children's Charity

A Dundee disabled children’s charity is thanking a group of local volunteers for helping transform its outdoor space for the families and school pupils it supports.

The Yard, which operates from temporary, shared premises at Rainbow House, Drumlanrig Place, offers creative and adventurous play for children and their siblings.  The Yard is welcoming new members and requests for taster sessions.

A group of volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Bingham Terrace, Dundee recently donned their waterproofs to help tidy up the garden space, namely James Garrett, Hayden Church, Tate Watt and Heitiniarii Teauroa.

Gill Thomson, Service Development Manager, The Yard commented, “The garden space was in need of some TLC but is now looking amazing and we’d like to thank them for their hard work and commitment, especially on such a rainy day.  The rain was horrendous at times but it didn’t dampen our spirits!

“Our outdoor space is extremely important to us regardless of the season or weather, and a real haven where children and families who visit can enjoy free, adventurous play in the fresh air. It was fantastic to have the volunteers’ help and enthusiasm and to have the garden looking good as autumn approaches.”
