Organisers of A Trail of Tales at Glamis Castle, a brand-new light show in the historic castle’s gardens, are urging people to book quickly as tickets are “going fast” for the family friendly event.
Launching next week, the show will run every evening from October 29th-November 7th from 4pm-8.15pm. Visitors will explore the sprawling gardens in shimmering light installations while discovering classic childhood stories, from Peter Pan to Jack and the Beanstalk, on the way, all under moonlight.
Since announcing the inaugural show last month, many people have been snapping up tickets which are set to give families a unique outdoor experience to look forward to in the winter months. However, organisers are aware that some nights, particularly weekend slots, are close to being full and don’t want people to miss out.

While walking the trail, there will a number of refreshment stations, including Dundee’s Fallone’s Pizza and Casa Di Gelato, for visitors to enjoy a hot drink, a snack – or some gelato. The Hub Café and Castle Kitchen Restaurant will also be open and serving their seasonal menus during the event.
Glamis Castle are partnering with Angus-based outdoor event specialists Strathmore Event Services to organize the light show. Also, brought on board to realise the vision for the show are Dundee-based lighting specialists AML Event Hire and prop designer Helen Stephenson from Art of Display in Leith who will style part of the trail.
An interactive app, developed by events company Team Challenge Company, will be available by QR code when visitors arrive featuring a map and facts about the trail. With local connections, Team Challenge Company has offices in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Please note, all castle visits must be pre-booked to allow Glamis to monitor visitor numbers while Covid-19 safety measures are in place.
