Barnardo\'s Works is a delivery partner for the Employer Recruitment Incentive for Targeted Young People (ERI TYP), to assist disadvantaged young people to secure independent, sustainable employment. A 4th category as now been added:

DISABILITY
Definition of eligible young people for this category is:

Targeted Group No.4 - Disabled – a 16-24 year old who has a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010. \'The Act defines a disabled person as a person with a disability. A person has a disability for the purposes of the Act if he or she has a physical or mental impairment and the impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities (S6(1)).\'

The other categories of targeted young people are: Young Carers, Care Leavers and Ex-Young Offenders.

This funding allows employers to claim up to a £1500 subsidy if they employ an unemployed 16-24 year old from the targeted groups plus there is also a small, flexible fund available for equipment and training costs. Terms apply. This funding can be used alongside the YES ERI (Youth Employment Scotland Employer Recruitment Incentive) in eligible cases.
