Temporary Traffic Order - Longhaugh Area

Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating SSEN cable renewal works. The Order is expected to be in force for 12 weeks from 18 April 2022. Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all (a) vehicular traffic in (1) Strathaven Terrace between Fenwick Place and Summerfield Avenue, (2) Summerfield Avenue northbound between Drumgeith Road and Braefield Lane, (3) Whitfield Loan between Lothian Crescent and Summerfield Terrace, (4) Whitfield Rise between numbers 39 and 131, (5) Whitfield Avenue between numbers 9 and 31, (6) Lothian Crescent between Salton Crescent and the entrance to North East Campus and (b) all pedestrian traffic (1) Summerfield Avenue to Braefield Lane footpath, (2) Whitfield Loan to Whitfield Rise footpath, (3) Whitfield Rise footpath at numbers 26 to 40, (4) Whitfield Drive south footway between Whitfield Square and Murrayfield Gardens, (5) Whitfield Drive subway, (6) Whitfield Drive to Murrayfield Gardens footpath, (7) Whitfield Rise to Lothian Crescent footpath and (8) Lothian Crescent south footway between Salton Crescent and Whitfield Loan.

More than one section may be closed at any time.

Alternative routes will be available for (a) vehicular traffic via (1) Summerfield Avenue, Drumgeith Road, Summerfield Avenue and Fenwick Place, (2) Drumgeith Road and Summerfield Avenue, (3) Whitfield Loan, Whitfield Drive and Lothian Crescent, (4) no diversion available, (5) no diversion available and (6) Lothian Crescent, Whitfield Drive, Whitfield Loan and Lothian Crescent and for (b) pedestrian traffic via (1) Summerfield Avenue, Braefield Gardens, Braefield Terrace, Summerfield Terrace and Whitfield Loan, (2) Whitfield Loan, Whitfield Drive and Whitfield Rise, (3) Whitfield Rise and Whitfield Drive, (4) Whitfield Drive north footway (temporary pedestrian crossing at east end of closure & permanent pedestrian crossing at west end of closure), (5) Whitfield Drive north footway/Whitfield Drive south footway (permanent pedestrian crossing used), (6) Number 22 Murrayfield Gardens to Whitfield Drive footpath, (7) Whitfield Loan - Whitfield Rise footpath, Whitfield Loan and Lothian Crescent and (8) footpaths on south side between Salton Crescent and Whitfield Loan.
