Vacancy for Recovery Worker

Purpose: The Recovery Worker will be expected to work as part of a team to help deliver support for people who attend the Safe Zone Bus in need of support with a variety of issues including substance use, finance, housing and mental health. Recovery Workers will action referrals taken by Safe Zone staff, and support service users to access support from a range of agencies, while helping them to overcome the barriers which may prevent them from doing so. You will additionally support delivery of Safe Zone Bus activities some weekends as agreed with the Safe Zone Coordinator. As a Recovery Worker you will be expected to provide support to people in all stages of recovery.  
 
It is a requirement of this post that candidates have lived experience of recovery and recovery services. This can be through personal experience, or experience gained through a close relative, friend or as a carer.   
 
Where your experience is personal, there is the added expectation that the Recovery Worker will maintain their own recovery strategies while in post and be responsible for furthering their future employment opportunities.  
 
The post will be subject to a PVG check. 
 
The post will be based in TCA’s Dundee office with travel across Dundee and its surrounding area also required.
