Jings! Crivvens! Archie and Oor Wullie are coming to Overgate, Dundee

Overgate, Dundee will be the scene of an unmissable Oor Wullie exhibition next month as The Archie Foundation – the much-loved children’s charity – announces Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash.

The exhibition – an Overgate exclusive - will be a showcase of many of the most popular Oor Wullie sculptures, including one never before seen by public eyes!

Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash presents a rare opportunity for the public to see a number of the incredible artworks, originally customised by leading artists for the wildly successful Oor Wullie BIG Bucket Trail, up close as a collection.

Oor Lilie – seen in the pictures with Chris Duke of The Archie Foundation Tayside, Metta Ramsay of Overgate, and Michael Kemp of Thorntons Solicitors who successfully bid on Oor Lilie at auction, will be making an appearance at Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash along with Big Hearted Wullie, Haud Yer Wheest Wullie, Technicolour Dream, and Oor Freddie, plus many others including the very special surprise Oor Wullie!

The exhibition will take place in Overgate’s Gather space from Thursday the 14th to Sunday the 24th of July and is free and open for all to enjoy. A number of fundraising activities by The Archie Foundation to help support children in Tayside will also be in place including an Oor Wullie and Archie merchandise shop, and donation buckets for visitors to contribute whatever they can afford.

Speaking about the exhibition, Metta Ramsay, Community Manager of Overgate said;

“Overgate is delighted to be welcoming Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash to the centre next month in what will be an unmissable attraction for Dundee.

“For the first time since 2017, the public will have the opportunity to see many of the incredible Oor Wullie sculptures up close in Gather and really get a chance to appreciate the detail and artistry of each one. We are particularly excited to be revealing a new Oor Wullie sculpture never-before-seen by the public!

“The Archie Foundation is a wonderful charity, doing so much to help children across Tayside and we hope visitors to the exhibition in Overgate will also consider taking the time to enjoy the Oor Wullie and Archie merchandise shop, and support where possible.”

Chris Duke, Regional Fundraising Officer – Tayside of The Archie Foundation, added;

“The response to the Oor Wullie sculptures, which formed the Oor Wullie BIG Bucket Trail – including Oor Lilie which Thorntons generously procured at auction to support The Archie Foundation – has been phenomenal.

“Now, thanks to the continued support of our charity partners, including Overgate, we are thrilled to announce Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash; an all-ages exhibition offering fantastic picture opportunities and fundraising fun for all the family.

“This will be an unmissable opportunity for the public to see many of the Oor Wullie sculptures together up close – including a new incredible surprise guest to the Bash!

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Gather in Overgate from the 14th to the 24th of July where visitors can learn about the artistic inspiration behind each customised piece, and hear about the work of Archie’s in helping children across Tayside.”
