Local NFU Mutual Agency's support for Dundee Bairns helps build community resilience

The team at the NFU Mutual agency in Dundee recently nominated local charity, Dundee Bairns, for a share of over £6,000 of the NFU Mutual’s £1.92m 2022 Agency Giving Fund.

The leading rural insurer has launched this fund, now in its third year, to help local frontline charities across the country. The Agency Giving Fund forms part of NFU Mutual’s £3.25m funding pledge for both local and national charities in 2022, to help tackle the ongoing effects of the pandemic and assist with recovery.

Dundee Bairns is a responsive charity that works hard to support children in Dundee by addressing inequality. Over the summer holidays, the team at Dundee Bairns served over 37,000 meals to children in need. This has doubled from last year, but it is the generosity of donors, fundraisers and volunteers that makes it possible for the team to continue their great work and respond to the growing need and demand.

Sean Mochan, Dundee-based NFU Mutual Agent, said: “We were extremely proud to have nominated Dundee Bairns for this donation of over £6,000 and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to the local community.”

Genna Millar, Dundee Bairns Project Co-ordinator, commented: “We are enormously thankful to our local NFU Mutual Agency for nominating us, as such donations go a long way to supporting our community projects and feeding children across Dundee.”
