Women Ahead will be presenting two big cheques for a total of £2572 to two organisations who help the older community: Contact the Elderly in Angus and Celebrate Age Network in Dundee during its AGM on 27 March 2014.

Money was raised at the monthly events that Women Ahead organises throughout the year since April 2013, as well as the very successful Awards Dinner which took place on 15 March 2014.

Chair Edith Adam, who selected the organisations at the start of her chairmanship year, said “It was a privilege to support Contact the Elderly and Celebrate Age Network this year. The work that they both undertake is essential for the wellbeing of the older community. Some Women Ahead members helped them practically during the year by becoming involved in their activities. Now we are helping financially so that they can deliver a wider range of services.”

The Women Ahead AGM takes place on 27 March 2014 at Dundee Voluntary Action, 10 Constitution Street, Dundee, at 5:30pm. Presentation of cheque is due to take place at approximately 6:30pm.
