Visitors to its HQ will meet its new mascot – helicopter hero ‘Captain SCAA’ – alongside the rest of the team.
The Google Maps Business View® tour of its Perth Airport base is the first of an air ambulance base anywhere in the world.
Google\'s Street View technology allows anyone interested in finding out what happens at SCAA HQ to ‘walk in’ through the front door and take a tour around 24/7, even on their smartphone, in the same way they ‘walk’ around the streets in Google Maps’ Street View®.
All they have to do is go to the SCAA website, donated by Chamber Platinum member MTC, or Facebook page, where a live interactive link to the tour in Street View® has been embedded by MTC, or search for ‘Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance’ in Google Maps or Google+ and click the box marked ‘See Inside’.
When they do they’ll meet Scotland’s newest superhero – Captain SCAA – and see how his efforts, from fundraising to flying the helicopter, help the whole team save lives all over Scotland. They’ll also meet lots of other SCAA team members and come across a few surprises along the way.
The tour is a commercial product and was donated, at the request of SCAA Chairman John Bullough, by award-winning Scottish Google photography franchise Mr Droogle after he approached Chamber member Alan S. Morrison of ASM Media & PR while he was carrying out his role as Mr Droogle Marketing Manager.
Speaking about the tour, Sally Cameron, SCAA Head of Fundraising said: “We are delighted to have this fantastic new piece of technology which allows the public to take a tour of our base at Perth Airport.
“The newest addition to the team, ‘Captain SCAA’, was on hand during shoot - you will see he pops up throughout the tour. Captain SCAA will be making a further appearance on our Facebook page today and he will be setting a challenge for our followers, so like our SCAA page to take part.
“We are hugely grateful to Mr Droogle for donating this cutting edge marketing tool.”
